Surrounded always by the sound and the players of this instrument you have the chance to hear an amazing variety of pieces and styles. One time Julio Cesar Oliva was visiting our University in Xalapa and he trapped me with one of his pieces … but I thought it could work also with a twist on it’s colour, so I went to him and asked him if I could play-adapt his piece for vibraphone and so … this adaptation was created, a jazzy-melancholic piece.
