This piece is a full concert in itself, an energetic trip exploring the posibilities of the vibraphone, the marimba and percussion set.
It is constructed in a mathematical way where different number of measures converge and fight with each other, creating an illusion of time movement while at the same time being stable.
The idea of the title came to my mind while I was reading Mario Puzo’s “The Sicilian”:
-Stefan Andolini said quietly, “I too am a member of the band. You know my name and that I am your cousin. But I am also called Fra Diavalo” The trust in the family and the betrayal surrounding it
This is a performance with myself on the vibes and percussion and Ricardo Lievano on the marimba and percussion.
It was recording in deSingel in 2013 as part of Ricardo’s final exam for his Master in Percussion.
