Terninckgang (prelude to a living forest street)

It was originally written to be part of the soundtrack of the feature film “Where is Rocky II?” by Pierre Bismuth, the piece did not make it onto the soundtrack as Pierre had other sound ideas in mind but it seemed to me to be a good and complete piece so I decided to edit it as an independent piece.

It is inspired by an alley that no longer exists in Antwerp Belgium, opposite the corner of what was the Herman Teirlinck Studio (Higher Institute of Dramatic Art), in my early years in Antwerp this alley fascinated me, it seemed to me that it was a secret street that took you to another dimension, full of vegetation that seemed to have a life of its own, thinking about this alley, this piece was written as a prelude to a living street forest, a trumpet, a clarinet and a vibraphone venture into it.
